Well I haven't hurt myself in a while (knocking on my head), but just a few months back I was installing metal spiral staircase railing
for a client. I was at the top of the stairs drilling holes in the 1" square tubing that the rails are made of. I was using a 1/4" bit in
my electric drill and pushing the drill with my right hand while holding the rail firmly with my left arm. Yep, you guessed it, the bit
punched through the tubing and instantly drilled about 1" deep into my forearm. I dropped the drill and looked at my arm as blood
spurted about three feet, all over the wall, and continued to spurt out on the stair treads as I went down the stairs. I left a trail of blood
all the way through his living room and kitchen making my way to my pick-up. Evidently I drilled into a blood vein. Luckily it was
all tile flooring and fresh enamel on the wall and everything was easily cleaned. That was my latest injury. I've done many things
equally stupid over my 30 year carpentry career.
