Update-notifier Do not update...

I have searched the forum and see that different people have different reasons for this happening.  Saw to look at apt-get.log, and here it is:

Does it have to do with this?:

The following packages have been kept back libkface (2.9.0-2pclos2013 => 3.0.0-1pclos2013) opencv (2.2.0-3pclos2011 => 2.4.2-2pclos2013)

If so, is it safe to update?

How do I know when I see packages been "kept back" like this whether or not it is still safe to update...just keep on posting results here?

Did you try installing only the libkface package?

When I choose just libkface for upgrade, I get the following:

Could not mark all packages for installation or upgrade

I searched in synaptic for libopencv, and nothing pops up.

I checked my repositories, and I just have my pass account enabled.  I paid for and received my pass account in 10/12.

Those libraries are provided by the opencv package.
Tell me, do you have frei0r-plugins installed?

Yes I do

Current frei0r-plugins package conflicts with opencv (which should provide the libraries needed for libkface)
An update is on its way:

You will have to wait for the updated package to appear on the repos.

Yes, I think you should be fine.
Updated package will appear in a few days, I guess...
