Digikam 3.0 won't open after upgrade/install. (RESOLVED)

I get the following error when trying to run in terminal.

digikam: error while loading share libraries: libvpx.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.  

libvpx is installed and current according to synaptic.

I have libvpx0 installed here but not libvpx1 ......  and Digikam opens without error.

Which version of libvpx have you installed?

Can you try to reinstall libvpx0, and then see if digikam starts.

OK I had both libvpx0 AND libvpx1 installed, but not libvpx-utils.  So I marked them both for reinstall, and libvpx-utils for install.  Afterward, Digikam crashed on trying to open it the first time but succeeded the second time.  I have not yet tried to process any photos. 

I hope this gives some hints to those in the know about what's going on.

Previous posts are referenced against my desktop machine (AMD X2 4600 Asus MB)  
Just reupped my laptop (dell D620)  No problem there.  Digikam opened first try.  

@Just17   I noticed that libvpx1 was upgraded (or installed) when I upgraded my Digikam)  Both libvpx0 and 1 are on both machines.

Reinstallation of libvpx0 is not possible, it cannot be downloaded.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 2 reinstalled, 0 removed and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 0B/282kB of archives.
What's wrong?
