Can't access a network drive in PCManFM

Hi all

I installed the LXDE version of PCLOS (2012) about a year ago. For a long time I had problems trying to get my sound card working until I recently made a fresh installation on a different partition. This latest installation is fully up to date and is running pretty much the same as the older installation but I've struck a problem when trying to access a network drive in PCManFM. In the latest installation, selecting "Network Drives" under "Go" in the menu, will display the drive I am trying to access but selecting the drive will display "The specified location is not mounted". The old installation will take me straight to the contents.

I'd really appreciate any help with getting this sorted out.

I guess everyone is out on holiday.  Have you tried going into preferences and putting in an address?  Trying the CLI and mnt+address?  Iḿ fiddling around with this too and am not getting anywhere yet.  I like good questions.

Are you trying to access a Windows network?

If not, there is an easier way to access other Linux based network drives.

If the other drives involve Windows then ignore this post.

I have the same problem here.

Well, Thunar readily accesses Windows network.
It creates a mount point in /home/<user>/.gvfs folder.
After this PCmanFM is able to go into the Windows network.
(funny but if I delete the .gvfs folder Thunar is able to connect to the network too and after it PCmanFM also)

It seems PCmanFM lacks some mounting abilities now.

Some people suggest installing fuse-utils and gvfs-backends but the latter isn't presented in Synaptic.
