rainlendar error when I try to run it
« on: February 10, 2013, 06:04:50 AM »
Hi,

after I followed the Crow's suggestion here, when I try to run rainlendar I receive this errors:

Code: [Select]
[nuno@localhost rainlendar2]$ ./rainlendar2
./rainlendar2: /usr/lib/liblber-2.4.so.2: no version information available (required by ./rainlendar2)
./rainlendar2: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.1.0.0: no version information available (required by ./rainlendar2)
./rainlendar2: /usr/lib/libssl.so.1.0.0: no version information available (required by ./rainlendar2)
./rainlendar2: /usr/lib/libssl.so.1.0.0: no version information available (required by ./rainlendar2)
./rainlendar2: /usr/lib/libldap_r-2.4.so.2: no version information available (required by ./rainlendar2)
./rainlendar2: /lib/i686/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.15' not found (required by ./rainlendar2)
[nuno@localhost rainlendar2]$

I checked and all this libraries are installed, I tried to install 2.11, 2.10 and 2.11-pro versions of rainlendar and all with the same errors, searching in google, the answers tell to check in config file for rainlendar(in /.rainlendar2 or ~/.config/.rainlendar2) but none of the files are created. Running "gdb ./rainlendar2" didn't show any error.
What else could be wrong?

Strange, I just unpack and run.

I don't think people here support something they don't package  :-\  let me see later in my work laptop ¿which DE are you using?  ¿is your install fully updated?

Did you try rainlendar lite?  I have never used the PRO version

Edit. lots of errors in my answer, I saw them after a coffee  ::)

Check the path for    /lib/i686/libc.so.6    ........  I think you might find the file is located in a different path ........

I don't think people here support something they don't package
I know that but the error could be something easy that I was missing.

:-\  let me see later in my work laptop ¿which DE are you using?  ¿is your install fully updated?
I'm using KDE, and is fully updated.

Did you try rainlendar lite?  I have never used the PRO version
I tried the lite-2.11, then I tried lite-2.10 and finally tried pro-2.11, all with the same error.

Check the path for    /lib/i686/libc.so.6    ........  I think you might find the file is located in a different path ........
I rechecked, and the file (and all others files) is installed where rainlendar is expecting.

which working version are you using? I don't mind not having the last one, as long as I have one that works ;)

On my system libc.so.6  is a link to  libc-2.13.so .........  so it seems it is not the path but the version of    glibc   that is throwing the error?

Quote
./rainlendar2: /lib/i686/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.15' not found (required by ./rainlendar2)

PCLOS is presently using glibc 2.13
