[SOLVED] Email addresses easily available for harvesting?
« on: February 03, 2013, 08:50:53 PM »
I have ticked the "hide email address from public" option under Account Related Settings in my profile here, but I still see that my email is visible in the left hand column of each post linked to a postal letter icon as "mailto:xxxx@emailaddress.com" format.
This could be visible to email address harvesting bots.

How should I disable this feature? Is there any other setting?

I have too and I can see my own email address, but I can't see yours... I think when you tick the box, then you can only see your own but others can't see it.

Can you see mine?

You should also be able to see your own IP address but not the IP address of others.

The fact that I could see ONLY my IP address but I could also see some other email addresses confused me.
It did not occur that they might not have enabled the HIDE feature.
