gandy's got a point (or should I say she does), could be worse. Looks to be well done and can be easily covered by clothing if wanted. Curious as to how old she is ? Seems to be a "trendy" sort of thing these days. Niece has a few mostly random ones. Doesn't bother me so much as long as they're not on the hands or face or completely covered in them. Got none myself, although I drew a design once for one a few years back if I ever did want to get one (was told it looked "tribal" ), a bit too pricey for me though.
Plan to be spontaneous tomorrow.

My niece apparently has a large peacock tattoo on her back, as well.  I say 'apparently' because I always avert my eyes whenever there is any likelyhood of my actually seeing it.  The thought of my beautiful niece being so defaced, upsets me enough without actually seeing the vandalism.

It could be worse

I'm not a fan of tattoos but it's her body so it's her choice. I think there will be lots of money to be made in the future by tattoo removal technicians.

Tattoos are an example of how people thinks just for today, what if she gets fat?  what about when the skin is full of wrinkles?

Of course, it can be useful: "look my granddaughter this is the reason why you don't want to get a tatoo"

Agreed crow,
I have no tattoo's myself, but my father in law has several (ex military), as the years have gone by they have faded, and now all you can see is a dark green, all colours have gone except a little red here and there.

As you say it's for "live for today" kind of people.

I just try to keep an open mind on the subject (to each their own), and enjoy the art.
Some of which is outstandingly good, some unfortunately is awful (in my opinion).

This young lady seems to be in a good place by look of it, and not some back alley dodgy place.

in 30 years time it will have faded (unless the inks used have changed in recent years), but on this one I think it will still look good (hope i'm still around then to ask to see it).  ;D

I don't think anyone decides to get a tattoo lightly.

Everyone knows that they are permanent and generally, if someone decides to get some permanent bit of art placed on their body they have given it some thought.

While I don't fully understand the idea of making such a modification to ones body, I can fully appreciate the devotion to their decision, and conviction of their belief that it should be done.

I would never have the gumption to have a tattoo but I must admit, I did have a pierced ear for quite some time in the 90's. ;)

That's a big Tattoo, plus she needs a wall mirror, and a hand mirror to see it, which is no great bother as it's obviously for 'others to look at'. Heck it's fresh, all raised and inflamed. She wont be doing it lying down for awhile Tex is something, (oops, I dunno how old she is, ...)  :P

What gets me is they need to be cared for, sunblock applied, if in the sunshine with it exposed or they just fade and look leeched.

I have the Abraxas figure (From Santana Album - Abraxas)  tattooed on my chest. A 15" red, bare naked figure of a woman ascending. Lots of fun at the beach ;D

However after all that work I make sure to put a heap of sunblock cream on her if in the sun.

Good on her, takes courage and commitment to get a big Tatt like that, unless she's got some Oxycodone or the like (Opoids), which is just cheating in my opinion, and even more silly than getting a Tattoo.

There were a lotta people 'hanging around' wanting to see tears in the Tattooist's for a week or two 25years ago, when I had my chest done. Zen, out !

Dude if you had a pierced ear in the 90s, you still have a pierced ear.  ;D ;D  I got mine pierced in the early 70s and just a few months ago
my wife was able to get a ring in it.  8)

Hey Tex a tat that size doesn't come cheap. You might have to help her out a little with the cost.   ;D ;D

I haven't checked it out in probably 18 years, I will have to see if there is still a hole in it. ;)

Really?? What is that about? the potential removal?

If she is big enough to get it, IMHO, she is big enough to deal with it.
