My new Logitech z906 speakers
« on: February 02, 2013, 07:56:01 PM »
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/speaker-system-Z906?crid=47

My old Logitech 5300 speakers weren't doing so good any more.  Three satellite speaker had already gone bad.  The z906's are definitely better the the 5300's.

I bought a splitter and a 20-foot wire, so I can hook the second older sub too.

Quite an impressive sound setup.
I've been pretty pleased with a Sony 3 speaker setup, 2 small speakers and a subwoofer, but I've thought surround sound would be great. My computer location doesn't support such an arrangement. I'm in the hallway at the top of the stairs. Nothing can go behind me.
Nice sound system you have. Congratulations!

I'm listening right now to Paul Oakenfold's new york Underground CD1.  The bass and treble on my Creative Labs Soundblaster Xtreme Audio sound-card are just great..!

It is 11:49 pm, guess I should switch to headphones for the persons living in the basement.... GRRRR..

I build all my own systems.

I'm on my laptop right now... so I can't say much.

BUT... my tower is another thing.  A CoolerMaster Centuriun box;  Coolermaster 600watt power supply; Gigabytye b75m-d3h motherboard;  Intel i5 3330x4 cpu, 8-gigs of ram.  Never mind the extra 3 cooling fans, drives (1 120-gig ssd drive, 1 1-tib drive, 1-2-tib drive, 1 500-gig external optical drive, 1 500-gig external-passport usb3 drive.

Never mind my 1 4-gig, 1 8-gig, and 3 32-gig usb sticks.

They do.  Plus they have more clarity than the 5300's.

well, it costs more than what my netbook and old desktop cost  :-[

i know that 5.1 is one of the best options but i can't feel comfortable with that, i like 2.1 only

it says 500 watt rms, i still don't understand well those values, it should say watts only, probably the main woofer is 30 watts and the rest is 4 watts but i could be wrong

that is alot to listen music and movies

The RMS rating for amps is the standard system for decent quality equipment. Lower quality stuff may use PMPO or other rating systems. 100 watts RMS would be rated somewhere near 600 watts PMPO. Lower powered amps can then be marketed with impressive sounding numbers.

then what real and rms is the same, well, that is even better for sammy but bad for those who don't like what he listens on them  ;D

this made me remember that sony amplifier with 20000 watts, FST-SH2000

it is 20000 pmpo and 2000 rms, is it legal to have this much on your house?  ;D

It is probably legal to have it, but if you used all of it you might have some complaints. You could buy a car that is capable of 250 mph, but do that on a public road and see what the police have to say about it.

This!  My brother used to have a mini system that claimed 150 watts per channel.  My Yamaha receiver is rated for 65 watts per channel but if tested out on the same speakers as my brother's system would produce more noise (music signal loudness that is) than the mini system's amplifier would.
Turn off your computer and do something useful.
