Bill Gates Talks Win8
« on: May 07, 2013, 09:29:36 AM »
I was just thinking the other day that when Bill Gates starts doing PR for Win8, you'll know M$ is getting desperate.  Well, here it is:

"The changes, part of a software package given the codename "Blue"..."

Yeah, because the folks who bought it have been feeling blue ever since.

on the first link it is said that you don't have office in android

i just used and created a word document using kingsoft office in my smartphone

it is a smartphone and did a splendid job with it, free, a thing i can't believe i did on such a small device

the guy has a point, a hybrid between a table and a pc is ideal but they, who supposedly know better, offered a big pile of dirt called windows 8 in the form of surface pro, expensive, heavy, bad battery life and kinda slow

well, whatever they offer now will look desperate and as always, a corrective measure, not innovation as it should be on the first place

about blue, if numbers are right, it is not blue as on depressed,  it is blue as in blue lips because the patient died, couldn't oxygenate well enough using the product!

 ;D ;D ;D

So 8 will now rocket to the heights of success since they have his official public endorsement.

I stopped in at OfficeMax today to pick up some supplies.  I spoke with a sales rep about laptops.  She really knew her stuff about Windows 8. She uses it and really likes it a lot.  And she was able to show me the features.  It really came to life, but it appears there's a really steep learning curve.  And, she conceded, everyone is buying Windows 7 computers.  Being the manager of the store, she gets calls from other stores asking if they have any Windows 7 computers in stock.

Just from seeing the demo she gave, it's clear where M$ messed up.  They should have simply given the user the ability to pick and switch between interfaces: either the traditional start button/desktop or the new Tiles interface.

In addition, she reported that many Windows 8 systems coming back for service have a third party application installed that allows the user to switch to a traditional Start button/desktop interface.  My guess is, M$ is doing the same.

yes george, that is what everybody expects

the button or something closer to it and skip the weird first screen that you usually don't need and need help to disable to do what you want

still, windows 8 needs lots of improvement, when you use it alot, you get the feeling that it lacks something, it is a incomplete project

"Blue" as in "blue screen of death"  -  what an appropriate code name for M$!
