Hi,

Thanks for all the great work Pinoc and others! The 64bit version works just great on my desktop and laptop. It is really quick.

I am having trouble installing the PlayOnLinux package. I get the message from synaptic:

 PlayOnLinux:
Depends: libx11_6  but it is not installable

I can see that libx64x11_6 is installed. I assume this is the 64 bit version of the library.

regards,

Bruce

fixed in 4.1.9-2

Thank you for the recent added packages. No idea what update did it, but Skype no longer aborts.

It's getting better and better.

Microstuffed are discontinuing msn forcing users to switch to Skype, so amsn may be obsolete before the official 64bit release.

Is there a hardware database for the 64bit version, to encourage users to upgrade?

I've just tried the RC1 Live CD on my wife's Dell Inspiron 1525 and it seems to be fine, as well as on my Thinkpad W500.

Just downloaded the 64 bit and am running it from LiveDVD.
Loaded just fine. Everything works. All components recognized.
Wow. I am impressed. Even updated through Synaptic while on LiveDVD => no problems.

Only one thing I noticed:  There are some applications that show up in the Menu in several different categories.
Not a big deal right now, but I am sure those will be corrected before the final release.

Have not installed this to system yet. Will do after files are re-organized and copies made of important files.

What a great job on this 64 bit. Hats off to all who worked and brought this to us. ( clap clap clap clap clap )

Thanks John, but not quite what I meant.

I was thinking that it would help to have a list of machines that RC1 is working happily on, to encourage take up.

:) I was also very pleasantly surprised by PCLinuxOS 64bit RC1, I love it,... I was Linux Mint user before and thougt that Mint is the best Linux for me because before that I was user of Windows, but now I'll stay with PCLos, I have 4 year old HP 6730S Laptop, Core2Duo 2Ghz CPU, 4GBram, Bluetooth, WIFI,....  Pclos discovered all hardvare and all is working like a charm from the start and the most important thing, it's very stable. I tried few other top ranked distributions but none of them worked so good as PCLOS, and no one of them had TeamViewer pre-installed and so much other software,... I'm in love with PCLOS now :-D,....

Hi  Nikola!

Welcome to the PCLinuxOS forum.
PCLinuxOS KDE 64bit is still in development and lot of packages are not available yet, have to be fixed and it's ready when it's ready.
It's stable enough to use as workable install  (as I do).

Enjoy!

Well, finally something to report on 64bit-rc1.  ;D
Sometimes Synaptic will not run from the menu.
No problem running from konsole-but the menu shortcut yields the loading icon in the taskbar then nothing.
Logout has no effect-same behavior
But restart returns to normal.
Tried to reproduce it with sleep. Nope
Will try hibernate.
hmmmm..survived suspend.
When it starts again, I'll try to notice what was happening.
Yeh, a minor thing.  ;)

I haven't come across this issue either. Synaptic runs fine every time  ???

Maybe this is a kdesu problem?
Try to forcibly terminate processes kdesu and kdesud and run Synaptic again.
