currently i'm downloading the iso but it stops and start again and then speed does weird things, weird brazil server :S

Go for the torrent. For large files, torrents are safer bet. No need to worry about disconnections and corrupted downloads.
Packaging well will cure headaches of many :) But learning to package will cause headaches in many :(

Thank you all for the hard work you put in.
Been running the 64 bit since test 3 with no complaints.  I do have one question now. Did a fresh install on formated HD and get text login on screen. Startx can not launch. As root I removed /etc/X11/xorg.conf and type startx again and get my 1600x900 screen full width but cut off at top and bottom. This happened when I did last week's updates on another PC. Using Nvidia fx5200 card on Acer s200hl monitor. Is KDE 4.9.5 changing the view size or are the new Nvidia drivers changing everything?
I am still running test 5 and KDE 4.83 on main PC and RC1 on test drive.

As an alternate the Downthemall FF add-on is dependable for me.
But the torrent should be very active & offer plenty of seeds.

This is great! Just downloaded and installed tonight. Seems to be working well.
Initial boot after installation stalled with an error, but a restart continued to completion. I can post the error if interested, but will omit it here.
I just commented to someone last night that I have been using PCLinuxOS as my primary OS since, I think, 2006, v0.92 or 0.93, and just assembled a new 64 bit system. I wanted PCLOS but didn't want to install the 32 bit, just to re-install when 64 bit came out soon. Then today I saw the RC-1 announcement! Excellent!

My system is:
Asrock FM2A85X Extreme4-M motherboard
AMD A10-5800K CPU w/ integrated Radeon HD 7660 graphics
Mushkin 240 GB SSD
WD Black 500 GB HD
Kingston HyperX 1600 DDR3 16 GB

It seems my only current issue is the "AMD unsupported hardware" watermark in the lower right corner of the desktop. A forum search indicates that this is because the graphics require AMD Catalyst 12.6 or higher, and the included version is 12.4. As 13.1 is currently available from AMD, I suppose an upgrade version will be coming to Synaptic soon.

Again, the install went smoothly and quickly. I'm pleased with this system. It meets the high expectations that I had.
Thanks for a great job!

ASRock FM2A85X Extreme4-M FM2 AMD A85X MB, AMD A10-5800K Trinity 3.8 GHz FM2 Quad-Core APU (CPU+GPU) w/ AMD Radeon HD 7660D Graphics, Mushkin Chronos 240 GB SSD, WD Black 500 GB HDD, 16 GB (2x8) Kingston HyperX Blue 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM, Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler

Have 64rc1, will try out & report, thanks.  ;D

Somehow "PCLinuxOS%20KDE%202013.2.torrent" doesn't look quite right, though it works okay.

i let the file downloading last night, just woke and it stopped just as soon as when i fell asleep, really weird repo, lets see if it gives a corrupt download or not, i recommend not to use that brazil repo

fortunately i'm using jdownloader that tends to be better when avoiding broken files but in 1 hour i will do the md5 and will discover if i have to download it again or not  :)

For me when everything else results in a corrupt download and no .torrent option is available, wget at command line usually saves the day :)

Supercalafragalisticexpialadoshus!

Absolutely perfect timing!! My wife bought a used laptop, it had Windows Vista on it, it's 64-bit, so I wanted to go with a 64-bit Linux. Tried out a few, settled with one, but it's been a bit of work and I am currently stuck in getting some hardware recognized. I was getting ready to burn the newest PCLinuxOS KDE 32 I got on the 18th and go with it that because my laptop experience with PCLinuxOS KDE has always been excellent, works out of the box. On a whim, I decided to check and see what's up with the 64 bit version and I hit the mother-load. Yeeee Haaaa!

Man I am one happy camper. Downloading, seeding.

Wait until it's installed and running... she'll probably have to physically hold you down, if you're this excited already.  ;D ;D

the file finally downloaded and the md5sum was good

livecd tool worked perfect on old install

i'm in the middle of the install but i clicked on the wrong option and by accident i clicked on cancel at the begining of the install

i clicked again but had to go to another room and when i came back desktop crashed and two installer wizards were waiting me

i closed one and proceeded with the desktop crashed, i'm doing a full format with surface test if both swap and / partitions

something that gave me problems was the partitions screen

for a moment i couldn't find the custom partition button

the screen is too small and that option was hidden, perhaps force that window to be a bit taller?  my screen is just 600 pixels high and i had plenty more space free for it

(please excuse me µT6 )
I almost meet the requirements:
Quote
Requirements: 64bit Intel or AMD processor; 1GB RAM or more; 10GB or more hard disk space;  3D desktop support requires a 3D instructions set compatible graphic card (NVidia/ATI/Intel); sound card, DVD-drive.
Don't have, "3D instructions set compatible graphic card", nevertheless congratulations on PCLinuxOS KDE 64bit RC1. Will be interested to see it's development and upgrade my Graphics card, and give it a whirl  ;)
