There has been improvement in my brother's condition. He has moved from Critical to Stable. Talking, with a tube in his trachea is hard to understand but he is trying to talk. This morning, he was almost sitting up in his hospital bed - instead of lying flat on his back.

Thank you for all of your support.

Jim

Wonderful!!!  I am so happy for your brother and your family!
Still praying for continued progress....

The support was the easy part, you always had that. Taking care of your own.. that's hard.

Make sure you take care of yourself while doing it.  ;)

The actual person that needs most of the help is our attention.  Jim.. you and your family and friends are the persons to best help.

I've seen several persons who didn't do so good after a vehicle accident.  My this situation be a better situation.......

Thanks again for your continuing support.

My brother was, late this afternoon, transferred to another hospital to be nearer his family. When I saw him this morning, he mouthed the word "Jim" - so there is hope for him yet.

He has arrived at the hospital in the nation's capital city about 2 hours south of here. I plan to visit him on Saturday.

Saddened to hear of your younger Brothers Vehicle Accident jimwilk.
We in Aus. have similar Insurance through the TAC, (Transport Accident Commision) , monies are taken out of the registration of all vehicles, as you'd probably know.

Very happy to read the encouraging signs that he is alert in himself, and trying to move around.

All the best to you, your Brother, and Family.

Take care of yourself.  :)

I am very pleased to report that my brother is now breathing without the ventilator, is sitting up in a chair, looking out the window, talking, and is able to raise his legs off the footrest.

I am going to go down to our capital city tomorrow and visit him in the Intensive Care Unit.
We are all very pleased with his progress.

This morning, I phoned up the ICU here in my town and told them of his progress. They were thrilled and said that, when he gets better, they would like  him to walk in there to see them. They get a real buzz when one of their patients is able to arrive on a walking visit.

Great, I hope he continue with his recovery
I shall pass this way but once;
any good therefore that I can do,
or any kindness that I can show
let me not defer nor neglect it,
for I shall not pass this way again.

Yes, he sounds like a very strong guy, a head on collision is no joke. It is just great to hear he isn't still in a coma; he seems to be progessing rapidly. In the long term I hope he can overcome any injuries which he's sustained and continue with life as before.
All the best to him, and your family, wishing you all the best in the coming weeks and months ahead.  :)
