All the best to your brother.  That induced coma can be a good thing.  A guy I know in housing construction.. they had to do it to him twice, before they found out what was wrong.

And yes my province in Canada has that "no-fault" insurance too.
One of the few things I've learnt as growing older.  Is to choose your battles.. but never loose sight of the war..!

Also keeps their system going into shock and shutting down.  It's common to do it with severe
burn victims.

 :)

Thanks all of you.
My brother has had his condition changed from critical to stable. That is a great step in the right direction.
He is trying to mouth words (pipe in his trachea prevents sound generation) and he can wiggle toes and fingers. However, his recovery is going to be a long process.

We are living one day at a time.

Great news Jim! Stable is good, very good after what he's gone through.   One hurdle crossed now and the healing
process has begun. You make sure you're getting enough rest as well dude.  ;)

There has been improvement in my brother's condition. He has moved from Critical to Stable. Talking, with a tube in his trachea is hard to understand but he is trying to talk. This morning, he was almost sitting up in his hospital bed - instead of lying flat on his back.

Thank you for all of your support.
