How to remove dual boot/lilo from PC
« on: January 30, 2013, 03:06:56 PM »
I screwed up.  I wanted to install LXDE on a second hard drive (first drive windows7) for testing/investigating and did not want to interfere with Windows.  I wanted to be able to use F8 to change boot order to boot to the second drive.  I installed LXDE on the second drive from the live CD not knowing it would set up a dual boot condition.  I should have disconnected the C: drive.  I want to take that second drive out and put it into another computer for the garage but now the computer will not boot without the second dive installed.  How do I remove Linux and the LILO boot screen and return to a normal single drive Windows default boot?

First install Grub to the MBR of the second disk, then

take it out, and use a Win disc to repair the MBR on the first disk.
