Error in apt-sources list
« on: January 26, 2013, 07:55:24 PM »
The past few apt-sources lists do not show xfce4 in the sections. Also they show kde4 instead of kde. This prevents downloading of xfce4 updates and gives a 404 error message (file not found) for kde4. This is easily corrected by manually editing the sections, change kde4 to read just kde and add xfce4. The apt-sources lists should be corrected.

Wonder how you get these obviously old lists in your "latest" updates.

and your version of apt-sources-list is which one? 1.0.4 or later?
and then you ran apt-sources-update correct? Which pulled in an outdated mirror list.
You shouldn't use apt-sources-update and this program is automatically removed with the latest apt-sources-list 1.0.5-2 or later.

apt-source list is 1.0.5-1
You are right I did use apt-souce-update the last time but the previous time I followed instructions in option 2 for the mirrors update. I'll quit using apt-source-update. Thanks.
