(Solved) Plasma Widgt Analog clock

In a previous thread, i mentioned the analog clock not coming up on start-up.  You have to go into the settings and turn the second sweep hand either on or off.

Any fix for this yet?  Maybe re-install the widget form the repo?

i used that widget but it looks nicer the digital one

does it happen when the desktop loads? or each time you delete and add again the widget?

if you load two, both fail identically?

It does not appear to have a problem here.

Suggestion:   Try it on a new temporary user account and see if it comes up on reboot.

As suggested,  I'll try it in a guest user account.

Logged out of my main account, logged into a guest account. set up the analog clock widget.  Logged out.  Logged into the guest account and the clock is not there.  I need to toggle the second hand on and of in order to get it to appear.

This happens on my desktop system and my Lenovo notebook.

I have no suggestions .....  your problem seems familiar from some time ago, but I don't have the problem presently.

What if trying another theme for the analog clock?
Configure your Desktop -> Workspace Appearance -> Desktop Theme -> Details -> Analog Clock

Chose another theme and see if you'll have the same problem.

I fount some similar problem too with the analog clock when I tried a small size.

i loaded two, logged out and logged in, one was ok, the other was oversized and i had to resize it to see it completely with seconds hand

it seems to be doing whatever it wants

Well here's one for you .......  the clock display is corrupted today on boot up!

Although I don't need it there I left it in place last night when I shut down.

I had done multiple reboots yesterday with it in place .....  trying out different kernels .....  and it never corrupted.

Today all I see are three 'strokes' (7pm, 9pm, 11pm) and a flickering where the second hand should be. Yes I had added the second hand display before I finished last night when I was timing an app launch in a kernel.

Clicking on the 'resize' box, without actually resizing the widget, gave me the correct display again.

So it seems that all is not well here either.

I will leave it in place for a few more days, without second hand, to see if anything else happens.

It is possibly related to theme used and/or desktop effects in use.

i have very few desktop effects enabled with kwin and i have used many themes and probably all made this happen

do you have it working? what theme do you have in use now?
