levono E530 Edge -graphic problem

Hi, recently I bought a new Levono to take over the tasks of my Acer laptop which is getting a little long in the tooth.
The way I set up is: It comes with Win7 pro installed -so I installed PcLinusOs 2012.12 dual booting with grub.
Mostly it is working fine -except when I first booted it I could barely make out the images , I navigated to System Config and in the display hardware I selected "vendor" and changed it to Intel then 810 0r later.

This meant that at least I have reasonable graphics but it's not 100%.

At the login the name field the colors are weird -and Libre office splash is green and in other placed there are color bleeding.

It suggests to me that the driver is not the correct one. I wonder if anyone can point me to the right

It is an intel 4000 -I think maybe Ivy bridge -so if anyone know I will be gratedful

cheers
kim

Is this the correct unit?

Looks like it has nVidia chipset (this has the dual-video common to i7's, I take it -- if so, on the fly switching isn't supported under PCLOS, yet).

Could you post the results of
Code: [Select]
lspci

This should give more information, allowing others to weigh in, if they know the correct driver to use...

Thanks. I think it has an intel HD 4000 from what I have gathered. I tried Nvidia and had to re-install the OS!!  the intel 810 at least gives me a gui -with shortcomings

Yes, I do not see any indication of an nVidia card being recognized anywhere...

Sorry, I don't have another suggestion at this time...

Hi,
I have found quite a few issues with my new Levono E530 Thinkpad (i5) Laptop  when using PcLinuxOs 2013.

The most disturbing it it often freezes , and it's random. I lose complete control and need to hard boot.

The card reader doesn'r work, the graphics are flaky ,and although I've found that Mint14 works -there are reasons I want to continue to use
PcLinuxOs which I've used since 2007.

I've tried many other Distros and am disappointed with various features compared to PcLoss.

How can this be fixed? The Thinkpad is a very popular Laptop -I have used Asus and Acer with no dramas using PcLoss over the years -but this seems
to need some big fixes -and soon!
