Solved. Some LXDE menu items still show German descriptions.

Even though I'm set for English as my localization, some of the menu items (More applications-Monitoring-lxuptime and skippy-xd) show German descriptions when hovering the mouse pointer over them.  (There may be others.)  Is there an easy fix for this behavior?

I am running LXDE, fully updated a week ago. I can't duplicate your problem. I selected lxuptime from PC > More Applications > Monitoring. When I hover the mouse pointer over the icon for lxuptime in the bottom panel , the description is in English. "Your current session is now running 8 minutes".

Reinstall this applications, this should solved the issues.

Did the Mark for re-installation, but no joy, so I did Complete removal including configuration files, and reinstalled.  Still have German descriptions for those two apps on mouse-over.  It's no big deal.  I took a little German language class in high school.

Check please, if you have installed locale-de.
When Yes then remove it...

Not installed.  It's not important; I was just curious how it came to be.  Everything else performs as expected.

I had the same thing which I described on the Testers mailing list...

In the synaptic I saw German descriptions:

Example:

 GNOME menu library development files
 GNOME Menübibliothek Das Paket enthält eine Implementierung
 des Entwurfs der Desktop-Menüspezifikation von freedesktop.org:
 http://www.freedesktop.org/Standards/menu-spec

Example:

 kde-runtime help files
 Beinhaltet die Hilfedateien für das kde-runtime Paket.

Example:

 devicemanager that shows the not removable devices tH
 Dies ist eine Geräte Überwachung mit zwei Änderungen:
 - Es zeigt die zu entfernbaren Geräten an
 - Wenn es mehr als eine Aktion für ein Gerät vorhanden ist, wird das Öffnen
   mit Angeboten
 - Option für das automatische Einbinden
 - Option, um die nicht entfernbaren Geräten zu verbergen
 usw.

I got this as a reply:

The SPECs for those packages have the "-l de" missed off the German description.

Example:

This package help files for the %name package.

#german
%description help
Beinhaltet die Hilfedateien für das %name Paket.

should be:

------------------------------------------------
%description help
This package help files for the %name package.

#german
%description help -l de

Look into /home/YOU/.bash_profile, if any thing generated from addlocale.

for info: this entry in the .bash_profile is, should be, removed automatically when you run addlocale and select "Restore to default en_US"
