Sadly, as they get paid as much for systems they don't develop as the ones they do, they can afford to shut down all operations, become a shell company, and still make a huge profit as a patent troll.

I doubt it.

Shares of Microsoft Corp. MSFT -0.17% jumped more than 4% on Monday to trade at $31 by late afternoon -- putting the stock to its highest level in at least six months.

Guys, please stay on topic, we are discussing our hollow earth!

...Filled with hollow companies producing hollow products.

I see nothing off-topic here.

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Microsoft Corp. admits the failure of its Windows 8 operating system and is preparing to change key elements this year, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday. The tech firm's head of marketing and finance, Tami Reller, said in an interview with the newspaper that "key aspects" of the operating system will be changed when Microsoft reveals an updated version of the operating system later this year. Analysts compared the U-turn to Coca-Cola Co.'s New Coke fiasco almost 30 years ago, the report said. Windows 8 was launched in October last year and was called a "bet-the-company" move, seen as a move to compete with Apple's iPad success

i wish i had the oportunity to try that weird cocacola tasting like a pepsi, don't remember it

now that i follow a diet as strictly as i can, i haven't tried cocacola in years, i tried other similar things and all of them taste horrible to me, also makes me go to the bathroom almost instantly, weird what we consider delicious and what our body accepts

about windows 8, soon there will be windows 8.1 or blue, it will be as ugly as the one already released but will add elements form windows 7 like the start menu in some form, still, i won't want to get it

deep inside i would like to see that they fix this crap they called windows 8, at least to see it work on those tablets they want to offer, just to annoy apple and google  ;D

I remember "New Coke"  I was outraged! :o  "What happened to my Coca-Cola?!?"  Then they came out with "Coca-Cola Classic" for a while and all were saved :D  Now I realize it must have been a bold marketing campaign :p
