issues after install and update KDE MiniMe

Hi folks!
In 2013, I wanted to setup my PC again with a 'fresh' installation and give KDE MiniMe a try - that seems to be a mistake :(
Well, I installed on fresh partitions and run a Synaptic update. I logged in as root and tried some customization (start panel on top, color, etc) - everything looks fine.
So I logged in as user, did some changes (see above, 4 virtual desktops with different widgets and backgrouns etc.) and added some packets using  Synaptic. But I dunno why, but the addlocale-script refuses to run, it said something about Synaptic not being configured correctly - untrue, I checked the settings - but worst of all, when I reboot and logged in again, most of my settings are gone: the panel is smaller and on the bottom (KDE-default, I guess), instead of the background pictures only a blank black screen is shown, the widgets are invisible (not gone, they're marked as active) etc. Also I noticed the ksplash themes didn't show up as well.
My first thought was about activities - it looks like a layer over my usual desktop, but no. This is very annoying - and also disturbing, for PCLinuxOS seems to be a most reliable and 'rock-hard' in the past - wold it be some stuff like Ubuntu, I wold have understood, but PCLinuxOS? Strange, strange...

Any ideas what went wrong here? I better do a fresh download of the iso-files again - both 'normal' and MiniMe, and perform a fresh installation... :(

My first thought also, but unfortunately no :( I checket apt-sources-list before, it's fine. But give re-install a try, while the downloads are in progress...

My suggestion to tweak the desktop after the first full update.
Could be the kde-config package changed some settings (happened also to me).

Hi again!
Update: when I first switch to 'root' using 'su',  I could run both the 'addlocale'- and 'lomanager-scripts - I didn't, for I will reinstall my system anyway...

For now, it remains a mistery, and I don't like having no clue. Can someone enlighten me?

Did you a full update after installing? addlocale and lomanager needs a full updated system.

Thanks, JohnW, after a fresh install and update, at least addlocale is working fine now - but lo-manager is still behaving badly... :(
