Mic Boost
« on: January 20, 2013, 08:59:24 AM »
I use realtek AC'97, I use "Mic Boost" because almost can not hear their own words.
I use also gmixer, there I have ALSA and OSS ,  from OSS I can add "In-gain".
In-gain works like controller for "Mic Boost" in KMix. For tests I used Audacity.
But for me this sound is not clean and not loud.
Example
compiz fusion

How do I do it even louder ?
I download driver from realtek and extract and I see ...this is  also "ALSA" driver  :o

You could try  gmixer   to see if you can alter the sensitivity of the MIC there.

I use PulseAudio so I don't have the same options as you.

I don't know, now I can't check , after reboot head  in the disk drive crazy and:
____
GRUB
____
sygnal: pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip pip...

Once  I was able to start the computer again ( hard reset - on/off )
This time I had to re-install the system, on other for a while.

However, if sensitivity MIC, that looks ok, I can't harder,  because then I hear the noise.
I'm looking like ( I don't know ) playback boost , maybe exist but I could 't find.
It  should work ( If I'm right)  like boost in audacity
( this boost you have on the left slider near track with sound ),
but also I don't know how use it because  when the sound comes  after the  graph in audacity,
sound is also strange, maybe I do something wrong I don't know.
