Guess the Nouveau driver for Nvidia or the Nvidia 96xx driver.
Use XFdrake or Videocard configure settings in PCC.

If it is an old TNT2 card then Nvidia no longer supports that card. It was part of the 71.xx series.

Maybe the Nouveau driver does work and if not then is vesa the only option (maybe the xorg nv driver).

I tried a tried a Geforce 4 MX440 card in with drivers installed to suit but then Xorg started to fail initiating which I thought I'd solved with a reinstall of PCL but even a live DVD boot couldn't get Xorg to start so maybe a faulty card.

Now have have another Geforce 6200 card, as originally installed and all seems well.

Just out of curiosity: why did you swap GeForce 6200 with the Riva TNT2 M64?

I remember having a TNT2 Ultra with 32MB RAM back in 1999. It was an awesome card at that time.
But now... it's ancient :)

I have a P4 CAD PC and an Athlon 2500+ PC, the Athlon 2500+ PC internet connected and both machines with AGP Geforce 6200 cards.

The P4 CAD machine's card died.

Only have a TNT2 card, Geforce 4 64mb card and an ATI 9200SE 128mb card spare, the ATI 9200SE being most high end for CAD work.

The ATI 9200SE 128mb card doesn't work with Athlons, hence have put it in the P4 and the working Geforce 6200 card in the Athlon PC.
