Open URLlink.acsm?
« on: January 15, 2013, 02:22:58 PM »
Is there a way to open a URLlink.acsm link in PCLOS. Search indicated it was possible to run Adobe Digital Editions under Wine but I can't get ADE to run. If I am reading the launch output correctly it is dependent on .Net. Is there a native Linux application that will do this? I have tried Calibre and Lucidor with no success. Or is there a work around for using ADE. I tried Kobo desktop app which I use all the time but it apparently won't work with URLlink.acsm. No I don't own any reader or plan to buy one. I just wanted to read some library e-books on my computer.

Output from trying to start ADE:

Well I I found an older version of ADE and it runs Initially it didn't seem to work but that turned out to be because I hadn't verified my e-mail address when I signed up with Adobe to get the password needed to run the software.

Would be nice if there was a better way then relying on an outdated version on of a Windows product. So I won't mark it solved yet in hopes of a better solution.
