[SOLVED] PCLOS KDE Minime kernel upgrade
« on: January 15, 2013, 06:00:39 PM »
Hi!

I was just wondering if I can still upgrade my kernel to utilize my RAM fully.

I have 3.2.18-pclos2.bfs currently installed by my RAM displays only 2 of 4GB of my RAM.

free -m
total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached
Mem:          2952       2467        484          0        534       1313
-/+ buffers/cache:        620       2332
Swap:            0          0          0

Did this before but can't find any upgraded version

I am using Lenovo S400 laptop

Regards

Jessie

Kernels do not show as normal updates in synaptic. This is to make sure noone updates to a new kernel accidently. You have to search for them. If you like the bfs kernel but want more of you memory available, find 3.2.18-pclos2.pae.bfs.
