Please post back lsusb, lspci -vv and lsmod
Update from Desktop PC 1. Found that it was not up-to-date (only megagames repository selected) so updated with synaptic. Bluetooth died.
2. Tried bluetoothd -u <reboot>. No change
3. Removed Pulseaudio using task-pulse-audio-remove <reboot> and then reinstalled all bluetooth packages listed in synaptic. Reboot. No change.
4. Then tried bluetoothd -u <reboot>. Bluetooth returned.
I still have working sound so leaving pulseaudio to one side for now!
PS the updates that killed Bluetooth included:
libpulseaudio0 (2.0-1pclos2012) to 3.0-1pclos2013
libpulseglib20 (2.0-1pclos2012) to 3.0-1pclos2013
Perhaps these are causing the problem.
Update from Laptop PC1. Removed Pulseaudio using task-pulse-audio-remove <reboot>
2. Then tried bluetoothd -u <reboot>. Bluetooth returned.
For both PCs a reboot kills Bluetooth again, but now bluetoothd -u brings it back without a reboot. Does this mean that bluetoothd -u now needs to be executed at each boot? If so to which startup file should it be appended?
PS for Coffeetime: I still have the output from lsusb, lspci -vv and lsmod before the fix if that would help for diagnostic purposes.
