What happens?
« on: January 16, 2013, 10:14:21 AM »
Hi friends,

PCLinuxOS is my main distro for 1 year and a half, sometimes I had a problem and was solved with your help but lately I have too many "problems" with PCLinuxOS, no big problems, nonsense... but I have to spend many time for solve it, sometimes a think I am in testing...:

- "PCManFM root" was missing.

- Wifi connection was missing 3 times, in my netbook and laptod.

- Extra work for the new repositories.

- Firefox not in spanish.

- and now: the touchpad was missing. (I looked for a mouse, rebooted and now is working, the same problem happened in my netbook and laptod)

I like PCLINUXOS and the people here in the forum but I have not many time for solve every problem...

My question is: what happens? busy times?

I think this is not good for PCLinuxOS.

Sorry for the complaint.

- Firefox was not in german ( a simple restart of firefox solved my problem, it isn't a PCLinuxOS problem )

- "PCManFM root" was missing. ( spend a own package, there isn't still a PCManFM root desktop file, It comes from PCLinuxOS )

- Wifi connection was missing 3 times, in my netbook and laptod. ( new libaries working sometimes other as older, but newer is required to get working last package request )

- Extra work for the new repositories. ( hey it isn't  our dept, you want a free system, you get it, but note, we wont pay of for it )

- and now: the touchpad was missing. (I looked for a mouse, rebooted and now is working, the same problem happened in my netbook and laptod) ( You have ever a good time? It can be, that some bits goes a wrong way, then will help a reboot )

Are you thinking PCLinuxOS will weakens?

Try the
kernel-2.6.38.8-pclos3.pae.bfs
It has different hardware support.
When I use the standard kernel I'm missing some functions on my 3 year old Vaio.

Hi Daniel,

Maybe, I think the last month was the worst. I'd like a more stable system. Stability is important for me.

A weak stability can make people decide to change distro, for example:today my wife was angry and she wanted change for a more stable distro for his netbook...

You are right, I must be silent...

You and many friends are always helping people here at the forum, working hard for PCLinuxOS and I appreciate it.
I just want to help expressing my opinion about the importance of stability for the "normal" people.
I don't know if a more slow updates schedule could help to prevent it, this problems are not very nice when you are working.

Thanks.
