Sound issues [SOLVED]
« on: January 12, 2013, 02:48:21 PM »
I've tried narrowing down the cause of the my sound working and not i notice that when its abruptly turned off on the next reboot it wont have sound i would have to wait a good 5-10min before restarting and i'll have sound again.  during the start of pclos i will ALWAYS get an error message in my system try 1 of 2
saying that it is reverting back to the default sound card settings ion 1 message it will say the sound card model and in the other error message it wont say the sound card model. any ideas on how i can fix this?

Configure your desktop - Hardware - Multimedia - Phonon  and bring the device you want as default to the top of the list and 'apply it to all devices' ......  that should get rid of the error messages .....  which as far as I recall are telling you your default device is not available.

Something must be trying to use the non-functioning device, IIUC.

If on the next boot you are asked again if you want to delete some sound device say No ..... it might then settle as it is possible you were asked about the sound card you wish to use.

i will keep an eye on it i made sure before i said yes that the sound card information that it showed was not the one that works. i took that message as a sign that pclox wanted to get  rid of the additional unnecessary sound card info
