I actually signed up for G+ but haven't been on for months. I think it is still active. I only posted in there a few times over a few months.

Cutting up on facebook frees us from the "restrictions" of the forum and, imho, personalizes some relationships if you choose to participate.

I'm not recommending it, I'm just sharing what affect it has had on me.

I've been on facebook for years with no ill effects.

Of course everyone's definition of "ill effects" may vary.   ;D   I've been on facebook for several years too, though
I rarely post.  I check it every day though, to see who wants to be my friend that I don't know.  I have discovered
that I have 60 or 70 friends, half of which I never heard of.  :-\

some people just want to have a really high number of friends

a friend once told me he had 4000 friends on facebook, i asked him that if he knew all of them and he said no

i have 30 or 40, but people i know and i care, i don't want to see pictures of people i don't know, it has no sense to me, feels like spying people or something
