I back up. I have my PASS code inserted into sources and I'm gonna do a big update. However, i created a new user account and forgot to give this new user a new ID number. it's the same as the old account. I have access to the ld user account's files. Can't remember is this is good or bad.

If the new and old user names and IDs are the same, you will have all your personal settings left from the old install intact. Whether this is good or bad is a matter of your own interpretation.

So the updated nvidia driver: nvidia173 173.14.36-1pclos2013 causes the issue! 173.14.31-1pclos2012 did work for you.Guess the packager have to look at it.JohnW

If you want me to do so, I've an older (Sempron 2500, 1G mem) machine with ATI 9600, but a nVidia FX5200 laying around.Should I check ? (LXDE latest installed)Ed
My desktop machine is running KDE, using a Nvidia Ge Force 9800, with driver 304.51, working fine.
