this is what i call burst mode

"Sony's Burst Mode for the Xperia Z, which it says allows users to take an unlimited number of images at 10 frames per second with a 9-megapixel resolution, is able to take 999 pictures in 68 seconds."

if that doesn't let you take a good picture, i honestly don't know how you could

Sony unveils thinnest 10.1" tablet ever—the Xperia Tablet Z

The Android 4.1 device is also waterproof and can act as a TV remote control.

Sony is unveiling a new Android tablet, the Xperia Tablet Z, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona Monday. Sony claims the tablet is not only the “world’s thinnest 10.1-inch tablet” at 6.9 millimeters, but it's apparently waterproof in up to three feet of water for 30 minutes.

Inside, the Xperia Tablet Z has a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 1920x1200 display running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. (Sony has gone scouts-honor that the tablet will be updated to 4.2 "after launch.") The tablet weighs 495 grams (1.05 pounds) and it has an 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front camera, plus 16GB/32GB storage configurations with a microSD slot than can take up to a 64GB card.

my xperia mini pro was promissed to be upgraded to android 4

they upgraded it, along with the rest of phones from 2011

if they say that, they usually do it

for sony is more complicated because they change alot the ui, it doesn't look like a android device much after their modifications, very few sections remain the same, one of the reasons i like xperia phones

other companies do something similar, motorola, samsung to mention some

in terms of upgrades companies tends to be good but from what i have read, android 4.2 is not that good, people are waiting 4.2.2 instead

that tablet looks nice but expensive  :-\

Not that this isn't impressive (it is), but isn't this really just low frame-rate 4K video?  (stored in a "proprietary" format -- a bunch of individual frames -- without audio)

This not a jab...just an observation...
this reads (a little) like a "Sony apologist".  I like Sony hardware, but as a company, some of their practices have soured me...as a consumer, my only recourse is to not support them... :(

Still, interesting read...hope this hardware spurs further competition.

i don't know a company who hasn't offered crap to consumers from time to time, of course sony is not the exception

but from the companies who left me less times unpleased with their devices, sony is on top of the list

sony tvs are great but there was a time when their soldiering process left lots of units inoperative withing months, while samsung lcd and crt monitors are excellent i had one exploding at me, lg does good optical drives and monitors but i have seen both devices failing hard, restarting machines or leaving screen yellowish or just with no backlight

the only company that i have bought products from and hasn't let me down yet is black and decker, i know most of you guys hate that company and recommend makita and other great companies but so far it has offered me only good experiences

the only company that has left me upset 100% of the time is microsoft, their hardware, their software and their gaming division are just pure crap, plain and simple

Understood.

I wasn't talking about the occasional, run of the lemon everyone produces from time to time...

In Sony's case (for me) it was the rootkit fiasco that they failed to (as a corporate entity) acknowledge, and left un-addressed for way too long.
The sad part is, while I generally think Sony has produced some good hardware (TV, audio, PC, etc) this "software" (music, from acquired BMI) issue was so bad that I cannot, in good conciseness to myself, support Sony as a company any more...

i understand that, it shows that companies does things not well thought, or ignoring consequences when people discover their hidden activities

sadly it is not the only company that has done it in the past and shows that if you reach a monopoly status, as sony reached some years ago in the media, this things will happen

remember a article i posted some time ago where eu showed a group of companies fixed their crt and lcd prices to control the market?

some popular companies were mentioned there but mostly it was samsung if i remember correctly, almost the owner of the crt market years ago

fortunately, now is harder for companies to succeed in this practices so things are a bit better now i think

still, it shows that we shouldn't depend on only one brand, it is wiser to buy from multiple companies
