I bought a 240-gig Kingston ssd drive for my laptop about 4 weeks ago for 194.16.  I'm in Canada, not the cheapest place to buy things (why do you think I use eBay).

THAT price is crazy.  Costco here has a 2-tib usb-3 portable drive for 139.00, around here.

I just bought two 2 TB SATA drives for $89.99 each, (one from Newegg, and one from Amazon) and one of these cloning capable USB 3 docking stations.

I already had two externally cased SATA drives with both eSATA and USB connectors. The docking station does the same thing in everyday use, but adds the ability to clone a drive without software or even a computer attachment. All you do is insert the drive to be cloned, along with a blank drive, then click a switch to the Clone position and press the Start button.

For those always wondering what application is best to use for cloning their old drive, when installing a new larger capacity drive, and what settings to use with that application, then still messing up, this seems a logical choice.  There is also an adapter available, to use with IDE drives, that will work with this and most other docking stations. ;D

I guess I am looking at it from the point of view of having no money.  :-\

If money is no object in someones life then I guess they just buy what they want.

I can't say if I had unlimited money that I would not buy all the latest stuff too.

If they had more money than they know what to do with it,they would have given it to the poor,to charity or not take advantage of loopholes to legally avoid paying taxes.

The point of buying such things is to show off or to feed an irrational need to be first in getting things.
.. 3 things are certain in life : death, taxes and software bloat ..
.. tell me something i don't know, something i can use as i struggle to reason with the world around me ..

Us Canadians always pay more for products that are equal from the States... even though our dollar seems to be almost always par.

I guess it's just because we are just a a compliant type of people.

I've yet to try to understand if that is a good thing, or bad...

Not everyone gives that has plenty of money. I have not much but I still give. My only point was that if you are a little well off, you can buy things without having to sacrifice something else. For me it would be just to be able to go out and buy a few technological things I don't have now. Not a big deal. EX: a new laptop, more RAM for an existing computer. Not looking to buy my own jet or Ferrari.  :D
There is a 5th dimension, beyond that which is known to man.It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity, between science& superstition,& it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call PCLINUXOS!

Sometimes we do OK, here in Canada (even from brick and mortar)...a few weeks ago, Best Buy (I know...big box :( ), had a 2TB USB drive on sale for $89, so I grabbed two (since I need to backup my stuff at home...might as well have two backups :) ).
