Diablo 2 tcp/ip problem
« on: January 12, 2013, 02:32:57 PM »
I have Diablo 2 installed & working almost perfect under WINE. The problem is when I try to start a TCP/IP game, Diablo 2 says my IP is 127.12.34.56. I have it installed on 3 PCLOS PCs and all give this same IP, thus making it impossible to actually have a multi-player TCP/IP game. I've googled this & apparently it has been a problem since about 2007. I have found several sites & forums that all said to change the localhost loopback IP (127.0.0.1) to my actual IP (in my case 192.168.1.202). This seems to have worked for a few Ubuntu users, but not for any other distro that i've been able to find. It definitely does not fix it in PCLOS. So how can I get D2 to recognize my '192.' IP? Or at least find a workaround so I can play local TCP/IP games? FWIW, if I open WINE's command line and type 'ipconfig', it shows the loopback IP first, then my actual IP second. Is there any way to make WINE look at MY IP first instead of the loopback IP?
