Scooters
« on: January 03, 2013, 08:06:14 AM »
Are there any scooter riders among PCLinuxOS users?. If so what type of scooter. I just bought a 2008 Linhai Mainstreet 300cc scooter for $1500.00. I love it. Now that I am better I say what the heck. Time to enjoy things a little. Mine is a Chinese made scooter but it runs really good and it will fly. Pics to follow. This thing gets 65-70 mpg. How about it folks. Yep that's my ugly mug on the scoot.

Back before Katrina I owned a BMW R75/5 (definitely not a scooter, but still a lot of fun to ride!).  I was in the process of rebuilding it when the big storm washed all my parts into the nearby canal.  If I ever get the chance to own another, I'm there.  Bein' in the wind is like nothin' else I know.

They sure have come a long way from the scooters of the past.  If I didn't have my two GoldWings I would most likely have got the newer Silverwing. It is classified as a scooter.

Honda SilverWing of the past.  50+ MPG 500cc 50hp   original cost $2,400.00

Today's Honda SilverWing.  46 MPG  528cc  38.2hp  original cost $9,260.00

My GL1200 GoldWing gets 40+ MPG   1182cc   94hp  original cost $10,395

It seems like the mileage keeps dropping while the costs keep going up.

The 2013 Goldwing costs $23,250 stripped and gets 35mpg and is 118hp
