I know all of you guys don't understand. It's a crazy hobby of mine.
When I was a kid it was no big deal to own a Case or an Old Timer and if the blade said "Schrade" you knew you had a good knife.
I was taught very strict rules about how to handle a knife and how not to handle it. All my life I had one in my pocket and I guess I figured out how to sharpen one pretty well along the way.
They would all cut pretty good through tape and open letters or zip ties with little force. I never really gave it much thought until one day, I used a quality knife with quality steel, somebody pinch me! This was how a knife was supposed to cut?!!! All these years I thought I had a "good" knife in my pocket and I was wrong. As it turns out, A knife requires almost NO force to cut something. Only back and forth motion.
I have been "hooked" on good steel compositions since.
20 years have gone by and I am still like a kid over knives.
