And I hear what you are saying, newbie462. I, for one, am happy that PCLinuxOS hasn't forsaken older hardware in favor of newer hardware. I know I cannot afford to go out and buy new hardware every couple of years. Rather, when I get "new" hardware, it's usually something that someone is tossing out, or something I buy used or refurbished. I can also say that there is a very satisfying feeling associated with giving older hardware many more years of serviceable life.
The last computer I purchased (aside from all the parts to build my custom built desktop) was a Lenovo Thinkpad Z61T. Not the newest with the latest and greatest (Intel Duo Core, 1.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM, weak Intel graphics card), but I couldn't pass it up. I picked it up for $229 refurbished. Not bad for a laptop that originally sold for around $1000 brand new.
