Wow, this really brings back memories!

I was 14 when we had the "Whole Lotta Love" and the sorts blasting away.

But it took me many years beyond that to really understand what Led Zeppelin had created with their music and what great musicians they were  :D

When Eddie and Alex first thought up the idea to start a band, Eddie was the drummer and Alex played guitar.

One day, they were "goofing" around and decided to try playing each other's instruments.

It's a true story.

Originally, Eddie Van Halen played the drums, and Alex Van Halen played the guitar.    ;D

The "swap" resulted in pure genius and Van Halen was born!  .  ;) ;D ;D

I've had to start saying; One of the greatest '100', or Best '100' because in the same breath I'll say 5 other Bands, Songs, Guitarists, Drummers.  :D

As a drummer,,, I still aint positive what he is doing.

All those "Ghost notes" haunt me in my dreams.

I can "imitate" it. But still.. I am not sure. ;)

It seems this thread has kinda stalled.

This song comes from the 1986 "So" album by Peter Gabriel. The album had a few hit songs including Sledge Hammer, In Your Eyes and Big Time. It was one of the first CDs I bought. This song didn't get the radio play the other ones did.

I was going through a rough time in those days and this song got played a lot on my stereo.

gandy, nice one.

I remember when everyone thought that Genesis was going to break up because Gabrial left.

He had much success on his own and Genesis was better off (so it seemed) with Phil Collins.

One of my favorite Peter Gabrial tunes for personal reasons is >>>

Another fine monthly music thread. This month is an anniversary of sorts for me; January 2007 was my introduction to, and initial installation of, PCLinuxOS "Big Daddy". It took me a bit longer to join the forum.  :-[  I may not post as frequently as others, but I've been havin' one heck of a good time.  ;D
I plan to be around next January...and I expect the same from the rest of you!
In the meantime...
