Synaptic Problem
« on: January 01, 2013, 01:09:36 PM »
Hi,  Using PC-linuxOS  2010, Synaptic used to upgrade/download all Ok, but for a long time now if I open Synaptic and try an upgrade ( or any thing else ) the download window appears for a split second then Synaptic shuts down.  Also I keep getting a window pop up to upgrade Firefox, however if I attempt this a message states it is downloading, BUT nothing downloads.
I thought the following post from this forum may indicate a solution however clicking for the information brings up an error or unauthorized message.
" Another aptupgrade notice - build server to switch to new rpm 4.8.x New "

Any help most welcome,  Dave P..

From what I can tell, your system seems to far out of date, you probably should download the newest iso and start from there. If your still running 4.6.x kde you should install the newest iso.
