I dislike Apple as much as I dislike the cult to Saint Jobs

I dislike Apple myself. So it wasn't because I wanted to convert you that I posted the interview. I dislike Apple myself. But I found it interesting as a historical document.

I haven't seen anything to indicate he was particularly greedy.  He was successful - does that mean he was greedy?

I'm not an Apple fan, but I must say, I recently got an iPhone 4, and it is an excellent cell phone.  Even if it is twice as heavy as the competition, and so locked down that you can't do many of the things you'd like to do.  But it's very good for phone calls.

No successful isn´t the same as greedy. That´s why I classified him as a *successful greedy one". Greedy he was. Hey, he was the guy behind Apple today. Overpriced stuff, patent abuse, bullying competition, etc. only overpriced points to success, people wanted the products at any price. All other topics rather are indicators of greed (still further developing). So in spite of being a innovator, Mr Jobs and his company Apple still ended up being a innovation cracker/blocker, driven by greed,

There are many other things, like selfish, why he choose to substitute him a man who can't hold the company? maybe he didn't want a shadow on his name?  I said that I dislike the "cult to Saint Jobs" everything was promotion of his name. A visionary? I'm not so sure unless visionary is to see what others are doing, copy and promote through advertisement.

He made many mistakes but the "cult" forgot everything because he didn't sell gadgets, he sold status "for  xxxx dollars  you can't be just like a movie star, we include a phone in the deal"; iPhone doesn't work? you're dumb, you don't know how to handle it; Chinese overworked and underpaid? it doesn't matter, he didn't know; I can go on but I think I made the point.

I know some people who works for banks, they work very hard, they stay after hours without compensation, they leave half life there only hoping to go up in the ranks and have a better life, just like their bosses, almost none got it because the pyramid is very narrow at the top. I've always thought they are payed in dreams.  That was what Jobs used to sell: dreams, and his own image.

About the phone, almost any Nokia was a good phone for calls in their pre-MS era.

I feel sorry for him, and those who are like him..They never really live, and they never have any peace......outside of that, I can't say much, he is not here to either hear it or defend himself...... :-\

I tend to agree with what some say. Greedy in overpricing stuff, yeah. all the bullying and lawsuits, yeah.

But people still have a choice. They can buy Apple products or not buy apple products. I made the mistake of buying one for $1300. HEYYY!!!! $1300 and I felt like I couldn't do a damn thing on it. Sure, iTunes, iWorks, calc, web browser, but where are the neat stuff like I found in Linux?
Why can't I have folders on top of files, apps like the calc to be "above everything else".? why can't I change the window panel or whatever, the theme, list goes on and on and on....
$1300!
My fault. I should have purchased a different computer and put Linux on it. or at least did more research.

What is the value of a computer anyways? and Apple charging more for less (my opinion) does make them greedy.

or both

he said lots of lies/contradictions(some more famous than others) and also treated others badly(known for being disrespectful with his employees), didn't do things the way most people believed he did

usually you shouldn't talk about a man after he died, i shouldn't mention his errors and only mention what he did good with his life but he affected others with his way of do things, lots of companies were affected and his products will be around many years with this style that doesn't benefit anyone

i think that he is a example of what to do and what not when you achieve certain level of popularity, respect and power
