Can you hate more than one OS? I am sick of Apple. I actually sold it this morning. Don't miss it one tiny bit. Thought maybe I would.
more on topic: This is why I like Linux, more options to hopefully get something to work. I understand IE is not the only browser for Windows, but still, the many options found in Linux is just doggone neat
I haven't been able to find the java script yet in the settings. Will check again.
One thing you learn with Linux is that all sites are not equal. Most work well with any browser, but some have basic problems. Rather than mess with changing a lot of settings when I run into one, I just switch browsers, until I find one that does work with it. I use Firefox for this forum, mostly because it has some features that work better with the forum software than others. I do most of my general browsing with Opera, and almost all of my downloads with Konqueror, because it integrates with Kget so well, and has built in ftp. I also use Konqueror for working on the pclinuxos.com main site. SeaMonkey I haven't used that much, but installed it to help someone that had a problem with it on their installation. It seems to work well, in general, so I play with it now and then.
It costs nothing except installation time, and a bit of hard drive space, to install all the different browsers, and I have 4 TB of hard drive space, so once I install one I rarely uninstall it, unless I simply don't like it at all. The same goes for any type application in Linux. They're all free, so it cost nothing but a bit of time to try all that relate to any given type of activity, to see which I like best, or which ones have a fill in, less used feature, for something missing in a more favored application. One way or another, there's always some way to get what you need to do done.
