I like editing some music to have a 3 second gap in between each other. I figured K3B could work, but if a song ends and has 5 seconds of dead air, so to speak, I'm kind of S.O.L.
Any software out there that can help me get this done?

There are a few in the repository .....  do a search in Synaptic for
audio edit

Two that come to mind are Audacity and Rezound

Audacity is fairly straightforward for this kind of task.

I don't get Audacity. It confuses me. I think someone has tried to helped me with it before, midi to mp3, or something.

I tried again, looking through it, and trying different things, and it doesn't make sense to me. any instructions on this somewhere? I suppose I can google that, and see what they have to say.

I think I have it. I have re-edited this because at first, everything was grayed out, practically. now it looks like it's all there.
So, I'll see how it goes. How does one add seconds? just move that highlighted section over the default time?

It's not so much that I want it down to the millisecond. just three minutes. but when I cut it down to 3 minutes after the song ends, and save it, it shows it's a touch bit longer than the original song.

1m, 20s .375 milliseconds when cut, 1m, 20s, .352 or whatever, unedited. that's what is confusing me.
