Clock running fast
« on: December 27, 2012, 08:08:01 AM »
Since installing PCLinuxOS-KDE 2012 on my computer, the time clock continues to gain time and run fast.  Has anyone had this problem?  Anybody know what to do?  Is this a software problem or a computer problem?

Thanks,

Is it jumping by hours or just drifting?

If by hours then it is likely an incorrect locale/time setting.

If it is drifting then it could be a weak motherboard battery.

You can sync the time with NTP .......  set up locale and time and NTP in  PCC - System -  Manage time & date

I don´t know but I remember bringing video recorders and clocks from Europe to RP and I saw the same. It was caused by the fact that the equipment was build for 50 Hertz while here things run 60 Hertz. Hence all clocks ran too fast.... You might check the power supply for input needed although I actually don´t think that would be 50 Hertz only. So as I started with: I don´t know.
