PCLinuxOS torrents
« on: December 23, 2012, 11:01:10 PM »
I've been seeding the different PCLOS remasters but never pay attention to the numbers recently the flags in qBitorrent caught my eye for the number of different countries represented and I thought "this is a truly international distro". Yesterday wanted to see the flags and I was amazed to see the number of people seeding and downloading this distro.

Makes me so proud to be part of this

I shall pass this way but once;
any good therefore that I can do,
or any kindness that I can show
let me not defer nor neglect it,
for I shall not pass this way again.

Yep, as small as that part is   :)

My connection doesn't have a great speed but I think every bit counts so I'd set a nettop some time ago just to serve  PCLOS ISOs, sometimes there are very little peers, that happened with the edu and e17 remasters.

What I must like is to see the number of Countries where is being downloaded, it really is a global distro.

I try to seed when I can.
There is a 5th dimension, beyond that which is known to man.It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity, between science& superstition,& it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call PCLINUXOS!

Quick question..
I downloaded all the latest torrents.. I'm new at the seeding aspect. If I'm showing "upspeed" on some of them, and "3(11), in the "leechers" column (using kTorrent), does this mean I'm successfully seeding, to help out some downloading folks?

I don't use Ktorrent but if you see 3 connected and an upload speed I suppose you are serving the torrent.

While downloading a torrent or when you stop sharing (seeding) a torrent you have downloaded, you are considered a leecher.
When you have a complete torrent and let others download from you, you are considered a seeder.
It is good to have a ratio of at least 1.00 for the torrents you download. That means that you have given at least what you have taken.
For the whole world, you are someone.
For someone, you are the whole world.
