[Solved] New account not showing up at login screen
« on: December 21, 2012, 03:07:56 AM »
Hi,

I've just tried creating a couple of new accounts on my desktop machine (spec. below) running fully updated PCL 2012.12 KDE.

The accounts don't show up on the login screen but they appear O.K. in /etc/passwd file and I can login from console.  Any ideas?

Hi Russell,

Easy peasy (when you know how, of course)

Configure Your Desktop (icon bottom screen) > System Administration > Login Screen > Users tab
Lots of choices.

Or at the login screen hit the tab key so it does not highlight the default account, type even though nothing shows, tab to the password field, press enter.

Yes, that works thanks!

Can't figure out why that wasn't necessary when I added the same accounts to my Laptop ???
