Problem with HP 840C printing correct colour
« on: December 20, 2012, 01:35:27 PM »
I have been trying to set up the colour on an HP Deskjet 840c printer. Normally I just print out text so up until now it has not been an issue.
I have only recently moved from KDE 3.10 and although the colour was not perfect it was acceptable. However under KDE 4.9.2 the colour appear to completely wrong when I print images embedded in a LibreOffice Writer document, and I when I print out web pages it prints part of it twice as shown below.

The test page from CUPS appears to be OK. And if I convert writer documents to PDF and print via GIMP using Gutenberg the print is better but still a little dark.

Below is the output as suggested by Wedgetail

[user@localhost ~]$ ls -l /etc/cups/ppd/
total 40
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 20940 Sep 18 22:31 Cups-PDF.ppd
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 15247 Dec 19 19:59 DESKJET_840C.ppd

Any pointers as to why the colour is wrong.
