2012 KDE -- where are programs minimizing to? -- Solved

Hello.

I've recently installed PCLINUXOS 2012 KDE on  a friend's desktop computer. I'm an old PCLOS 2007 user so I have seen lots of differences. but I can't seem to figure out something. When I minimize a program in 2012, I don't see an icon for the program in the task bar at the bottom of the screen... I figure it's just something simple. Help?

Make sure the Widgets are "unlocked" and then from the bottom panel choose Add Widgets

In the "search box" enter  smooth - that should then filter out everything except for the
Smooth Tasks widget.

Double click on it and it'll "drop" it into the panel - then place it to suit the user and make sure to  relock the widgets again to stop them being accidentally moved

That function mysteriously stopped working on one of my PCLOS boxes too after I went through the "replace kde4 with kde in the repository sections line" process. I got it back by doing what was suggested above.
