Volume control disappeared from system tray???? [SOLVED]

hello there   im running the latest full monty release . and i had a volume icon in my system tray . and now  it disappeared??  it had been there for all these months ive been up and running , i did do an update last night thru synaptic , just 4 or five items updated , but icon was there last night ,  now today i went for it  and  its not there??

i tried to add a new widget to replace it but there isnt a volume control in the widget setup?


help ! ?

Try starting kmix from the menu. That should bring it back.
