I used to have a window fan that could blow either direction.  So, if so equipped you could flip a switch and blow the dust out.

Ok, I'll buy that.  :)

:D :D   A good theory anyway  :D :D

It would not surprise me to learn that there is a speed controller for the fan atop the frame that is holding it  ;)

Kinda looks like the fan's stock speed control (the usual 3-speed AC motor setup) is, indeed, mounted on top.  Looking at envador.com, the modder's website (lower left in the photo), I see this case won Grand Prize for mods at QuakeCon 2000.

not every amd will work hot, same for intel cpus, opterons afik, are not popular for being hot but not cold either, as normal as other cpus, still not much common in a desktop pc

mostly the heat comes from the southbridge and the video card, on those, such big fan could be benefical but not sure how much

a metal bladed fan that big won't be silent inside that case, it will be as noisy as a psu fan and 2 small fans, the same with the same airflow, maybe a bit better thanks to the case design, or the lack of it

I also like the use of the PVC pipe. I can think of several things I could make with the smaller diameter pipe that would be useful.
There is a 5th dimension, beyond that which is known to man.It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity, between science& superstition,& it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call PCLINUXOS!
