[SOLVED] knemo not visible
« on: December 15, 2012, 05:52:44 PM »
Hello,

I added a weather widget to my desktop and somehow it ended up behind the volume icon and available devices in the panel.

In the end i removed the panel and made a new one, but knemo does not show up all the time in the panel, only sometimes. How do i make it load up on boot ? I removed knemo and installed it again but that didn`t work.

And i can`t see that weather widget on the desktop only a message that has connected and i have to click ok.

FullMonty Release:            2012.09
Kernel-version:    3.2.18-pclos2.bfs
KDE4-version:                        4.9.2

Derek.

If KNemo runs on Full Monty the same as it does on KDE 2012.xx, make sure it's running - if not start it from KMenu

You should now see KNemo in the System Tray Settings

Right Click over the KNemo icon and choose Configure KNemo - you should see the config window like in the following image. Make sure the  Start KNemo automatically when you log in is enabled.

That should now start KNemo each time you login.

If you can't see the KNemo icon, right click on the System Tray and choose  System Tray Settings.

Now go to the Entries section and under the Visibility column for KNemo, choose Always Visible (see screenshot below)

That should now always be visible
PCLinuxOS 32bit KDE 4.10.1; kernel-3.4.11-pclos1.bfs & 64bit 3.2.18bfs; NVidia GeForce 8400GS 1GB 310.19 driver

Hi derekf

First please try pressing Control+Escape to open the System Activity window.  In the search/filter field enter knemo which should then filter out all running processes apart from knemo

If it's not running, please close the System Activity window by pressing the Escape key.

Now pressAlt+F2 and enter knemo as the search term. It should then show something like  the following image

and select the run knemo entry - that should now place an icon in the system tray - if it doesn't, try the right click Configure KNemo option(s) from my first post.

If it does place the icon in the System Tray area, still use the right click option and select the Configure KNemo > Always Visible option, again as detailed from my first post.
