colors and fonts change without warning
« on: December 15, 2012, 10:09:05 PM »
Something keeps changing my font settings and my window colors. I can't figure out what is doing it or when exactly it is happening. I set my font size and type and after an unknown event the fonts type and size change and the highlighted selection color in all my windows changes. It is really frustrating. It seems to happen after opening the Control My Desktop only it doesn't happen all the time when opening it. Only sometimes. I wish I could figure out what is causing it. It is very annoying to suddenly have the desktop appearance change. Does anyone know what is doing that? Could it be when I do something there that requires the root password? If so why would that happen?

what desktop?  kde4?

is it going back to a previous setting? always reverts back to the same value after you change it?

have you created a new user or reinstalled and kept the previous user?

KDE. Yes, it switches back to what is probably the default setting. You asked two questions in one. No to both not for a long time. I haven't done a fresh install on this box for a while just keep updating and haven't changed user accounts for a while either. The only reason I changed user accounts back when I did was to fix a problem in the old user account settings.

Twice tonight the font type and size changed. The selection color probably did too but I only saw that after I was opening a file in Vim.
