Net Flix on PC Linux
« on: December 13, 2012, 05:58:54 PM »
Good evening everyone;
Wondering if anyone has heard anything about Net Flix coming to PCLinux.

Saw an article on YOUTUBE yesterday and am curious if it will be coming to us.

Thanks

NetFlix has been promising forever, but has never delivered on their promise. I wouldn't count on anything they do or say!

I created an XP virtual box to use NetFlix, that might be a way for you to enjoy both worlds.  I got tablet (a cheap one) and Netflix doesn't run on that.  Got tired of running NetFlix on the VM, so I did cancel it.  They want you to get the more costly membership to get the latest stuff.  And, I didn't want to do that.  Good luck.

It is reported as being accessible using Firefox or Chromium .....  with the Media Hint extension

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/media-hint/

Oops .....  that is for locales other than the US .....  not what was asked  :(

Just realised it is a specific app that is the subject of this thread.

Perhaps Hulu Plus would be a far better way to go.  I don't know what the requirements for it are though.

I'm running ok on hulu, don't have the plus, just regular and it seems to show clips just fine.

We are using Hulu in this home, the kids are happy, me too  ;D

Hulu has worked for some time with Linux but to get to "the good stuff", you must pay.

NetFlix has, (in my mind) overlooked a HUGE market by not supporting Linux.

Lucky for me, My new BlueRay player is a wireless device that can access NetFlix right from my TV.  ;)
